During this lockdown period I started making face masks as I had a few friends and family members who wanted them. I also prayed that God would make it a source of income for me and bring in at least £100 a day. One day, someone sent me a message on my Instagram business page requesting to purchase one of my masks and was asking how to buy it. I looked at the person’s profile and thought this must be someone in Nigeria and wasn’t too comfortable pursuing it as it would mean I would need to send my bank details for payment. I ignored it and left it. The young man was persistent, sending messages so I told him the mask he wanted was gone. He chose another one I told him that was gone too, as both had been sold during the time I was ignoring the messages. He then said I should send him any one I had. I asked if he was based in UK as I was ready to tell him I don’t ship to Nigeria. He replied he’s UK based. I then did a little research and realised he has my son as a friend so I called my son and asked about him. My son said yes he knows him, he’s a good guy from a good family and his dad is quite wealthy as he helped his other friend’s dad in business etc. My son decided to pay for the mask so I told the young man that I’d be sending him a mask and that my son had paid for it for him. I then sent him 2. He thanked me and sent me his address. (Someone I thought was in Nigeria happened to live just up the road from me!) Little did I know that God would use this young man to be a source of my mask income. His mum then wanted to purchase 20 masks, his aunt another 6 and have been sending pictures of them in the masks. My skepticism almost made me miss out on what I had asked God for. Destiny helpers may not always be those known or familiar to us.
